For Heatherly Noble, fixing up her backyard was long overdue. And while she initially it was an activity that was hardly hazardous, she got the surprise of her life when a black snake came out of nowhere and bit her as she was trimming her hedges.

In an incident that was captured on video, Noble was carrying out her home improvement itinerary but got the shock of her life when a black snake came out of nowhere to bit her. Initially, the whole thing did not sink in and it took her a while to realize that she was bitten by the slithering reptile.

"In about two seconds I had to realize that one, you've been bitten by a snake, I don't know what kind it is. Secondly, it's there it's not going away because it's mad," she stated.

Noble decided to trim the hedges outside her home in Mooresville and was on a ladder when the snake attack happened. The bite was not the only pain she endured, ending up with a badly hurt knee from the incident.

"Stepped back with my left leg and left the right on top of the ladder and did a little bit of damage," she shared.

All Noble could do at this point is scream for help. Her mobile phone was across the yard at that time. A neighbor heard her screams and immediately called 911. Paramedics arrived to render aid not long after.

The whole experience has left Noble to issue calls for homeowners to be more mindful in the event they are planning to do some yard work. She suggests wearing protective gear and also takes some time to survey areas before carrying out their planned activities outside the home.

As far as Noble is concerned, Noble is now considering removing the large hedges from her home as a result of the harrowing experience.

"I guess any snake when cornered is going to come after you," Noble said. "It literally took a split second for this to happen. I should have been wearing more protective gear. The snake won, if anyone is wondering. We don't want to kill them all, but just be aware that they are out there," Noble stated.
