Some things cannot be easily explained and it appears that one was caught on video. Footage of a coffin set to be buried somehow got diverted when the pallbearers were instead redirected to the home of the victim’s alleged killer.

The video of the scene has gone viral showing pallbearers carrying the coffin supposedly to its final resting place. But for some reason, the coffin allegedly directed them to the house of the person behind the death of the deceased, a ritualist over in Kent, Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone.

The video was shared by Sierraloaded which showed the carriers of the coffin allegedly being drawn by some strange force to the house of the ritualist. Witnesses claim that it was the house of the same person who killed the woman.

This comes weeks after Sierra Leone’s High Court Resident Judge in the Kailahun District sentenced a young man to death by hanging after he was found guilty of murder. Justice Francis Banks-Kamara carried out the sentence last May 7, 2021, for the crime that happened in September 2018.

The accused was identified as Tamba Kholie who allegedly murdered Amara Korom in Nyadehum Mabarbu in Luawa Chiefdom, Kailahun District.

According to Judge Banks-Kamara, the act of the accused contravenes a cardinal Provision in the Sierra Leone Constitution, Chapter 3 of Act No. 6 of 1991. He went on to say that the act of murder is unforgivable and that the verdict will serve as a deterrent to others who plan to derail peace in society.

The decision was not spared from debate, particularly with some wanting the death penalty to be abolished in Sierra Leone. There are calls for the President to declare a moratorium on State hanging until a national consensus can be reached.
