An Indian man allegedly killed his one-year-old son by smashing him against a boulder after his wife refused to give him money for alcohol.

The incident happened Tuesday, May 25, in Maharashtra's Nagpur district, police said.

The accused, identified as Bhajan Metab Kawreti, a resident of Wakodi village, asked his wife for money to buy alcohol but she refused, a police official said.

This gave way to a heated argument between the couple which escalated to the brutal murder.

According to local police, during the argument, Kawreti picked up their son Satyam and smashed him against a boulder in the courtyard of their home.

The infant sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot, the police official said.

Officers were dispatched to the crime scene after an unknown caller alerted the police of the murder.

Responding officers located and arrested the suspect without incident. He had kept the infant’s bloodied body inside the home and was planning for an ideal way to dispose of it, police said.

The suspect has been charged under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and further probe is underway, the official said.

On the same day, a 34-year-old man from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh shot and killed his wife after she refused to have sex with him.

In a fit of rage, the man also murdered his three minor children by throwing them into a canal.

The accused, identified as Pappu, shot and killed his 36-year-old wife, Dolly, following an argument after she reportedly refused to be physically intimate with him for the last 15 days.

He also murdered his 5-year-old daughter Sonia, 3-year-old son Vansh, and 15-month-old daughter Harshita, by throwing them alive into a canal. Their bodies have not been discovered yet, Deshraj Singh, the in-charge of the Purkazi police station, said.

The suspect confessed to the killing during interrogation, the official said. However, the charges imposed on him were unclear at this time.
