A Philadelphia resident has been arrested on June 29 for suspected homicide. after authorities recovered the body of a woman shot in the chest inside of a mangled vehicle that horrifically crashed into a metal guardrail near a Target store on Tuesday.

Shaidiah McNeair, 24, faces manslaughter and weapon charges after an unidentified victim was found unresponsive after an intense car collision. Police later discovered a gunshot wound on the 27-year-old victim’s upper body, NBC Philadelphia reported.

In a statement released by the Delaware State Police, troopers immediately responded to reports of a vehicular accident involving the collision of a black Ford Fusion into a metal guardrail in 800 Christiana Mall Road, Newark on Monday afternoon.

The victim was found lifeless on the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound on her upper body, the statement appended. She was rushed to Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

However, investigators had reason to suspect that the victim was accompanied by another person during the crash. Authorities concluded that the companion promptly fled the scene before the arrival of police. A white plastic bag that contained a handgun was seized from the vehicle.

Troopers searched the surrounding areas managed to locate the unknown passenger, who was later identified as McNeair. The suspect was immediately taken into custody without incident.

McNeair has been charged with felony manslaughter and possession of a firearm at the Justice of the Peace Court #11. She was later committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $250,000 cash bond.

In an unrelated but similar story, just a day before the McNeair incident, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation into a deadly shooting after two people were found dead inside a crashed car at the 9800 block of Woodsmall Drive.

Bystanders noted that the vehicle crashed into a pole around 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Fox 59 reported.

Responding authorities discovered two people, both with serious gunshot wounds, unresponsive inside the vehicle with a firearm reportedly on the lap of one of the passengers.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the slain victims as Eric Colvin, 18, and Justice Wills, 22. Police came across shell casings behind the car, believing the shooting ensued along Woodsmall Drive.

“Witnesses preliminarily told us that the vehicle appeared to be just kind of moving down the road on its own. You know... struck the curb a couple of times then struck a light pole,” IMPD Nightwatch Commander Kerry Buckner said. Authorities are still investigating the mysterious circumstances of the shooting.
