A 12-year-old boy has died after he jumped from the roof of a 15 story apartment building Tuesday.

According to the police, the boy, who has not been identified, jumped off of the building at 1045 Park Avenue near East 86th Street, New York City, at around 4 p.m.

The boy jumped from the roof of a 15 story building and landed on a car parked below. The windshield of the car was completely destroyed from the impact.

The child was immediately rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the incident. The motive behind the child’s decision to end his life is unknown at the moment.

Investigators are also trying to find out if there was anyone else on the roof other than the child at the time of the incident.

In a similar incident, a 15-year-old boy hanged himself to death after posting a cryptic farewell message to his friends on Snapchat. Kian Southway of Rhondda, Wales, was disturbed due to the stress of not being able to appear for exams, the nationwide lockdown due to the global pandemic and his relationship with a girl.

His parents found him hanging in his room after they were alerted by one of his friends who saw the message on Snapchat that read "Goodbye Everyone." Kian was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
