A professed vampire is dead after he was reportedly mobbed and killed in Bungoma. He is the same man who was arrested in July 14 in connection with the disappearance of two children.

The man was identified as Masten Milimo Wanjala who confessed that he killed at least 10 people over five years. Aside from that, he also claims that he sucked the blood of his victims before executing them according to the director of criminal investigations in Kenya.

Originally, Wanjala was supposed to appear in a Nairobi court on Wednesday, Oct. 13 but reportedly escaped from the Jogoo Road police station. Authorities claim that they had no lights the night Wanjala escaped.

Governor of Nairobi (Mike Sonko) offered a £1,316 reward to anyone who could help pin down Wanjala. Some kids allegedly spotted him on a road and this helped a mob in Bungoma to track the “bloodthirsty vampire” down.

The mob found Wanjala and reportedly flushed him out of his house. He was confirmed to be mobbed and killed by Area assistant county commissioner Cornelius Nyaribai in a report from The Star.

Police planned to confirm the identity of the deceased through fingerprints despite locals confirming that the one mobbed and killed was Wanjala.

“We have picked his fingerprints for further clarification. But locals have identified the body,” Bungoma head of DCI Joseph Ondoro said on Friday, Oct. 15.

Wanjala drugged and drained his victims of their blood, while others were strangled. His first victim was a 12-year-old girl that he kidnapped. To date, the bodies of other children victims he preyed on have yet to be found. The 20-year-old was linked to at least 14 murdered victims in Nairobi, Machakos and Western Kenya.

"For now we can confirm that a man locals say is Masten Wanjala, who was on the run, has been lynched in Bungoma," Police spokesman Bruno Shiosho said.
