2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards: Ozuna Leads Nominations

Year 2019 shines brighter for Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin rap artist Ozuna. He is the first Latin artist to have been nominated for 23 categories, including major ones: Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male; Songwriter of the Year; and Artist of the Year.

Not far behind are artists J Balvin and Nicky Jam, also nominated for Hot Latin Song of the Year in Vocal Event and Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male.

Other leading nominations are from Bad Bunny with 12, Daddy Yankee with eight and Cardi B with four. Billboard recognizes female talents for this year with noticeable increase in female nominations, including Natti Natasha under the Best New Artist category, along with fellow female artist Karol G.

Global Latin artists Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, DJ Snake, Demi Lovato, Enrique Iglesias and crossover artist nominee Drake are also on the list. Lopez has been nominated for Tour of the Year, along with Shakira and Female Artist of the Year, while Lovato is a contender for Crossover Artist of the Year. DJ Snake is nominated for Producer of the Year.
