A 44-year-old man has been accused of repeatedly raping his minor daughter for years and eventually impregnated the underage victim in Viluppuram district, Tamil Nadu, India.
The victim, now a 17-year-old girl, has reportedly been living with her father after her mother passed away a few years ago. About two years ago, the girl also discontinued her education after clearing her 10th-grade examinations, Times Now reported.
The shocking abuse finally came to light when neighbors and relatives noticed the teen girl's baby bump and questioned her about the baby's father. After being pressured by her kin, the victim revealed that her 44-year-old father, a mason by profession, had been sexually assaulting her over a period of time and that he had gotten her pregnant.
In addition to this, the girl revealed that her father's friend, a 46-year-old mason, also repeatedly sexually assaulted her when she was alone at home. Following the revelation, one of the girl's relatives alerted the authorities regarding the recurring abuse. Both men, the victim's father and his friend, were booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and have been arrested, Hans India reported.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a 42-year-old man allegedly raped his 15-year-old minor daughter as punishment after seeing her spend too much time on her mobile phone in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, Latin Times reported.
The father, a trader by profession, reportedly got angry after seeing his teen daughter wasting too much time on her cell phone. Out of anger and frustration, he allegedly forced himself on her and raped her multiple times over the last few months as some sick form of punishment.
On Jan. 22, the underage girl refused to leave her school even after all her classes ended. When she was questioned by one of her teachers, the girl informed her that she did not want to go back home as her father has been sexually assaulting her.
Following this, the teacher called her father to school for an intervention. The accused reportedly subsequently confessed to his heinous crimes and apologized. The teacher assisted the minor girl in filing a police complaint against her father on Jan. 22.
After the incident was brought to the police's attention, the father was arrested and sent to judicial remand on Jan. 23.
