There’s literally nothing that can stop Ariana Grande from putting out chart-busting music -- a pandemic included. The 27-year-old singer teased the name of her latest track “Positions” earlier last week, followed by a subsequent (official) preview of it.

Grande plays the role of a President in the new single and is slated to be dropped on October 30. While there’s a great deal of ambiguity surrounding the name of Grande’s forthcoming studio album, fans have reported dubbed it as “AG6.”

Grande’s latest offering comes precisely a year after her uber-successful album, “Thank u, next” and is slated to be a bigger hit, going by the buzz that's building up around it.

The news came as a pleasant surprise to fans, but Grande was hinting at the same, since the start of the month. "Turning in these mixes and reminding u again to register to vote if u haven't already / to vote early." Then, a week later, the pop star tweeted, "I can't wait to give u my album this month,” tweeted the singer on October 7. She also launched two announcements on her website with countdown clocks to Oct. 23 and Oct. 30.

The song, which was conjured up during the lockdown months, had taken some shape in March. While she was working doubly hard during the lockdown phase, she urged fans to take the necessary precautions and stay home for as long as they could. "I miss making things can't wait to get back to work but for now let's stay inside pls," she tweeted.

2020 might not have been a great year, but Grande managed to bag great work deals at the start of the year. For instance, she performed “7 rings” and “thank u, next” at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Soon after, she landed a cameo on SHOWTIME’s “Kidding.”

Fast forward to May and Grande was back in action -- featured on two major singles, “Stuck with U” (with Justin Bieber) and “Rain on Me” (with Lady Gaga).
