11 years, Michelle Knight, has said she was hung "like a fish" during the ordeal, BBC reports. In an upcoming interview with Dr. Phil, Michelle Knight tells her horrifying tale of kidnap and torutre. In advance clips for the Dr. Phil's show, Ms. Knight describes in detail the 11-year ordeal. A preview of the interview shows Knight sitting cross-legged in front of McGraw, clearly distraught by recounting the ordeal. She also revealed that at one point she tried to pick a lock to escape: Castro said ominously "now you're going to be punished."

Ariel Castro died in an apparent suicide in jail last September. He was to serve life in prison for kidnapping Ms. Knight as well as Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus. Castro abducted the three women from the streets of his Clevland neighborhood, keeping them chained and bound, beating, starving and sexually assaulting them. Castro pled guilty to the charges against him in July. Ms Knight was 21 when she was kidnapped in August 2002. Ms Knight said she was "tied up like fish, an ornament on the wall, that's the only way I can describe it".

Ariel Castro's victim has been an inspiration to Phil McGraw. "In the 12 years of doing the Dr Phil show, no one has changed me like Michelle Knight and her story of survival," he told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "You wonder how anyone lasted a day let alone more than a decade". At Castro's sentencing hearing in August, Ms Knight, said: "You took 11 years of my life away, but I've got my life back. I spent 11 years in hell. Now your hell is just beginning."
