Armie Hammer allegedly doesn’t feel good that Robert Pattinson was chosen to be the next Batman instead of him. The 32-year-old actor reportedly tried to get back at the “Twilight” star by criticizing him behind his back.

Ben Affleck quit being the caped DC superhero. And since there will be a movie, the hunt for next Bruce Wayne started. A few names that were dropped during the selection included Pattinson, Hammer, Jamie Dornan, Nicholas Hoult and Dacre Mongomery. And as mentioned, Pattinson was chosen.

When the final choice was announced, Hammer reportedly felt very disappointed because he thinks that he is the better pick. He felt robbed and told friends that Pattinson is not a good fit for the Batman role.

A source alleged that Hammer is bitter and displeased with the decision as he honestly thinks that it should be him. Some people were also rooting for him to be the next Dark Knight after Affleck because he has what it takes for the role.

He was described as having the charm, physical attributes and good acting prowess to play Bruce Wayne perfectly. Moreover, he was technically the first choice because he already signed to be Batman in “Justice League: Mortal” film in 2007. But unfortunately, the movie did not push through, so he never got the chance to be a DC Comics superhero.

Matt Reeves’ final choice was Robert Pattinson. But did this decision really upset Armie Hammer? Fact-checking publication Gossip Cop stated that the report is false. It was explained that while the actor expressed his interest to be the lead in the new “Batman” film by saying that everyone would love to take the role, he also said in an interview that there was no offer for him to be part of the project.

During his guest appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show,” Hammer narrated that many people around him asked about the “Batman” film, but Warner Bros did not. His statement clearly denied that the production team of the movie has ever considered him for the role, so it is not true that he got upset when Pattinson was selected over him since he was not in the running in the first place.

Hammer and Pattinson are actually friends in real life, and they are close enough not to trash talk each other. Reeve’s “Batman” will be out in cinemas on June 25, 2021.
