The Australian Open 2014 is underway and as usual there are a number of prominent Latino tennis players competing for the Grand Slam of Asia/Pacific. Of course, Rafael Nadal is always a favorite at any open: he is the top seeded player at Melbourne Park and current world number one. However, he has only won the Australian Open once, back in 2009. While he is a hot contender this year, Andy Murray and long-time rival Roger Federer are both in his side of the draw. Will his power forehand hold up?

Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro is currently ranked number 5 in the world and is the number 5: however, the Argentine lost in the second round to Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut. It looks like the open is going to be a decidedly Spanish affair: David Ferrer will be Spain's next biggest hope after Nadal. The 31-year-old player is ranked and seeded number 3: he will be hoping for his first Grand Slam victory, however, he will have to face his countryman's power to triumph.

Unfortunately, other Latino contenders have been eliminated. However, it is still going to be an exciting tournament. With the world's top four players still in contention (Nadal, Djokovic, Ferrer, Murray), it's sure to be a thrilling tournament. Our bet is on a Nadal-Djokovic rematch: the two met at last year's final and it was epic - in fact it was the longest match in Open history at 5 hrs, 53 mins. While Djokovic will be hoping for revenge after his US Open defeat, our money is on the Spaniard. Vamos Nadal!
