Belinda has been one of the stars in Mexico that have been front and center helping all of those victims of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last week. Her efforts were slammed by "Hoy" co-host Alfredo Gudinni who alleges that a political party is using her to promote themselves. "PRI is using Belinda to win elections in Chiapas and Morelos," he wrote on the social network citing a source on YouTube.

It didn't take long for the "Egoísta" hitmaker to fire back and put the telenovela guru in his place. "And how much did they pay you to say that you idiot," she replied. "I am not tied with any political party, I have only wanted to help so please stop publishing stupidities to distract from the problems we have at this moment."

Salma Hayek is another star that has turned her focus on helping the relief of Mexico following the devastating tremor. The "Beatriz At Dinner" star opened an account on CrowdRise, which is part of GoFundMe, to help her native country Mexico after the devastating earthquakes. Hayek also donated $100,000 to the campaign. “The people of my country have now suffered three natural disasters in a row,” said Hayek on her campaign. “Many children and families are hurt and in terrible need. I'm contributing $100,000 now to UNICEF which has teams on the ground responding. Please join me and contribute what you can and thank you.”

On Hayek's Instagram account she shared her experience about living through the 1985 quake first hand where she lost an uncle. "After the 1985 earthquake in México City I was evacuated from my building," she said in an emotional video. "A lot of friends died, including an uncle that was very close to me. I have lived through the aftermath of a disaster of this magnitude and it's horrific. I am starting a CrowdRise to try to raise money to help the families that are going through this nightmare. I implore to your hearts, to the goodness of your hearts, to your compassion, to help... anything that you can give will make a big difference."

Another international star that is helping raise money for the victims is Shawn Mendes who was in Mexico when the quake happened as he had a concert the following day, which ended up being canceled. "On September 19, while I was in Mexico City preparing for my concert the next day, a powerful earthquake shook the city," he said in his CrowdRise fund page. "At least 275 people have died and many more are injured and left without homes. The scale of the devastation is hard to comprehend."

Shawn's message continued: "While I cancelled my concert out of respect and for safety, being there during this tragedy and seeing the devastation first hand made me want to do whatever I could to help those impacted by this tragedy. Your donation enables the Red Cross to provide relief and support to those affected by the earthquakes in Mexico. I am really grateful for anything you can do."
