Bella Thorne has never been shy about her attraction to both men and women. In fact, she just announced that she’s into a relationship with a new girlfriend, and surprisingly her boyfriend, Benjamin Mascolo, approves.

Thorne recently posted a photo showing her and a still-unidentified woman on her Instagram account. “She’s very cute,” she captioned the picture. “First girl I have dated that’s camera shy.”

But what surprised fans even more was that Thorne dating a new girl seems to have the approval of Mascolo. “You girls are cute,” the Italian musician even commented on Thorne’s post.

And there’s even a term that can best describe Thorne’s current relationship with Mascolo and the new girl. According to Yahoo Lifestyle, she is currently in a polyamorous throuple.

Psychology Today describes polyamory as the “practice of having multiple intimate relationships, whether sexual or just romantic, with the full knowledge and consent of all parties involved.” The difference between polygamy and polyamory is that the latter is “not gender-specific,” and one can have multiple partners of any gender.

Throuple is a recently coined term used to describe an “intimate, loving, equal relationship between a trio of people,” according to journalist Alix Fox. While it may be confused with threesome, there’s a huge difference between the two. “Threesome is focused on love-making; a throuple is focused on being in love,” Fox added.

This isn’t the first time that Thorne is in a polyamorous throuple. The first time it happened was when she was in a relationship with both YouTuber Tana Mongeau and musician Mod Sun.

Thorne initially came out as bisexual a few years back. This year, however, she admitted that bisexual might not be the best term to describe her sexual preference.

“I'm actually a pansexual, and I didn't know that,” Thorne revealed during a “Good Morning America” interview.”

As Thorne explained it, it’s not about liking someone based on his or her sexuality alone. “Doesn't have to be a girl, or a guy, or ... you know, a he, a she, a this, or that,” the actress explained. “It's literally, you like personality, like you just like a being.”
