The Big Bang Theory season finale will air tonight on CBS and fans should expect the unexpected. Sitcom actor Simon Helberg discussed the upcoming cliff hanger for the season finale with Rolling Stone.
Helberg plays engineer and astronaut, not to mention mamma's boy Howard Wolowitz on the "Big Bang Theory." In his interview with Rolling Stone Helberg revealed a few spoilers for tonight's "Big Bang Theory" finale.
First of all everyone's favorite off again on again relationship between Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) may be facing its biggest challenge yet. Thanks to help from his buddy Howard, Leonard is offered a chance to spend 4-months working with the crew of famed physicist Stephen Hawking on the North Sea.
Penny and Leonard seem to have their relationship in a good place. Leonard leaving for 4-months could jeopardize everything the couple has worked for. On the other hand absence makes the heart grow fonder and if you remember Leonard and Penny finally hooked up on the BBT after Leonard spent 3 months away at the Arctic Circle.
"There is another adventure that presents itself that's going to take one of the guys away for some time," Helberg told the Rolling Stone.
CBS released a clip from tonight's season finale. In it Leonard, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) are eating lunch when Howard comes over and gives Leonard the big news. Leonard is excited that Hawking has read his research and Raj congratulates his pal.
In typical Sheldon fashion the praying mantis look-a-like tells his friend he may not have what it takes to do this. In reality Sheldon is just worried about being left alone for 4-months. The quirky doctor Cooper is used to depending on Leonard for every little thing.
Penny and Leonard are not the only ones facing love troubles. Raj has finally found himself a girlfriend who is just as, if not more socially awkward than he is. Lucy is Raj's new love and when social situations become too much for her Lucy tends to climb out bathroom windows.
The Washington Post says Raj's love trouble may come from the fact that he wants more from the new relationship than Lucy can give him.
Yahoo News says more drama is added to the mix when jealousy shows its ugly head among the boys in the group. Howard is upset that people are making a bigger deal about Leonard's trip than his astronaut gig.
"Howard's a little competitive now that Leonard is getting the spotlight, because no one cared about Howard being an astronaut. So, it creates this sort of ripple effect."
