In three weeks Americans will be celebrating Thanksgiving, a time when families and friends come together to enjoy a large meal, laugh and be thankful for what they have in their lives. The Friday following Thanksgiving is a day of mass frenzied consumerism in which shoppers begin their holiday gift buying known as Black Friday. Numerous retail and department stores across America offer door buster, blow-out sales to entice shoppers to buy more on the premise they will be paying less. Stores like Best Buy, Target, Macy's, GameStop, and JC Penney (just to name a few) will be offering deals.
Many stores are opening up between the hours of 6pm on Thanksgiving and midnight Black Friday. JC Penney is one of a few stores that will be open on Thursday Nov. 28 -- Thanksgiving. Macy's will also be opening early on Thanksgiving offering Christmas and other holiday sales. Almost all of the 1,100 JC Penney stores across the nation will be open a full 26 hours, closing their doors at 9pm Friday evening. This year Penny's is looking to capitalize on all of the Black Friday money to be made.
Last year the retail chain did not open their doors until 6am on the morning of Black Friday. JC Penney is looking to make up for the profits they missed out on last year. JC Penney is a vast department store with numerous items from clothing to furniture to household appliances and more. Almost everything in stock will be on sale Friday Nov. 29 when Penney's opens its doors to Black Friday shoppers. Bath accessories, decorative comforter sets, memory foam mattress sets, and Christmas decorations will all be 50-70-percent off.
Other Black Friday sale items include reduced prices on clothing and shoes. Shoppers can get A.N.A brand cowlneck thermal tops, jeggings, Ponte Pants and tunic sweaters for $15.99 and less. Juniors Arizona brand jeans, sweaters, plaid shirts, and turtlenecks will be on sale from $12.99 to $15.99. Shoppers can pick up any Juniors collection and dresses for 60 percent off their original prices. Men's casual antheres d dress shoes will be 10-percent off, while women's elbow patch sweaters, skinny jeans and striped sweater will be priced between $10 and $16.
