BMW has given its 6-Series Gran Coupe the look of BMW's fastest 4-door yet and now, BMW has confirmed development of the M6 Gran Coupe to give it the oomph to back it up.

According to Motor Trend, M6 Gran Coupe is expected to launch within a year and will be a global product.

Details are limited but we expect the M6 Gran Coupe to receive all the obligatory go-fast M components including flared fenders, a more aggressive front fascia with larger air intakes, larger wheels, as well as signature M quad-exhaust. Underneath the hood is where it really counts as the M6 Gran Coupe will be using a powerplant identical to the M5. The powerful twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 produces 560 hp and will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to direct all the energy to the rear wheels. While the North American market still offers a manual gearbox for the M5 sedan, BMW has yet to confirm whether this option will get transferred to the M6 Gran Coupe as well.

BMW has confirmed that the M6 Gran Coupe will be available in the U.S. market and we expect it to start at approximately $110,000.
