Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk separated just last week after almost 4 years into their relationship. Cooper has recently been spending most of his free time with his family in order to save their relationship. However, they have decided to call it quits. The couple’s split is said to be caused by Cooper’s hit movie “A Star Is Born,” placing his co-star Lady Gaga on the center of the separation rumors.

A source confirms that the rift had begun during the filming of “A Star Is Born,” which was released last year. Cooper had been “emotionally absent” during the filming, focusing on his work and inadvertently spending less and less time with his family, claims a source.

But the results of his tireless working granted his directorial debut movie eight Academy award nominations and a BAFTA award for best original music, and he thanked his partner for accepting him despite his shortcomings. “Most of all I have to thank Irina, for putting up with me for all the music I was trying to make in our basement for a year,” Cooper said. “Thank you very much. Thank you.”

Shayk was reported to have wanted to save the relationship, and Cooper was putting in all his free hours to his family in order to help. They wanted to save their relationship, but “it had changed,” a source told People. Things did not become better, with the two realizing that they were only staying together for their 2-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine.

“Recently, Irina decided enough is enough,” said a source. “They are very different people, and once they realized it was the baby that was holding them together, it was time to call it quits.”

Fans theorize that the reason for the split is Lady Gaga, noting the strong chemistry that the actor-director and the pop star had on set. In a performance on June 9 at Las Vegas, Gaga burst out in a hopeful end-all to the Cooper rumors., “[B]e kind, be kind, or f**k off,” she told fans.

Gaga has been denying the allegations, stating that they are actors and that’s what the set calls them to do. “Yes, people saw love and — guess what — that's what we wanted you to see,” she said in an interview.
