Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are some of the biggest singers to rise to notriety in the 90s and early 2000s. The stars who both started their careers with Nickelodeon rose to fame and dominated the pop charts. While the two have often been pitted against each other by the media, with fans believing that there is some animosity between the two, it is being reported that the two singers may be collaborating musically!

According to Us Magazine, fans believe pop rivals Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are teaming up for a duet after a fan posted a screenshot from a music-licensing website in which both divas are listed as performers on Spears’ track “Do You Wanna Come Over?” from her ninth studio album, Glory, which was released back in August.

The site reports that the hysteria began when a Twitter user shared an image from APRA (Australian Performing Right Association) that has the song registered with the original slate of cowriters — but includes Spears and Aguilera’s names as the tune’s vocalists.

Once the news spread via Twitter, fans of the pop stars lost their minds.

“SO THERES A RUMOR ABOUT A BRITNEY AND CHRISTINA COLLAB?! YALL IM SHOOK AS F--K IVE BEEN WAITING 19 YEARS FOR THIS,” one Twitter user enthused, while another wrote: Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears invented pop culture and that's a fact.

Despite the seemingly shaky past, the two singers have worked together once for the infamous performance with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Musis Awards. The performance which till this day goes down in history as on of the most controversial performances can be easily said to be one of the top highlights of both singer's careers. If you watched the performance then you know that Spears and Aguilera work realy well together.
