Bruno Mars, Cardi B 'Finesse' Remix Music Video Is A 90s Throwback

With only 30 minutes ahead of its midnight release on Thursday, January 4, Puerto Rican descent Bruno Mars and Dominican descent Cardi B announced they did a secret collaboration. On social media they teased the artwork for the project where both are seen dressed in colorful outfits giving a 90's vibe.

The upbeat remix of "Finesse" - a song originally released in 2016 in Bruno's "24K Magic" album, also comes with a throwback music video, mixing the best of both time periods. In the video the singer and the rapper dance to the rhythm of the music in a '90s-inspired set that at first instance reminds you the classic tv show "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" that starred Will Smith.

“Start your 2018 with Big Bronx Boogie Herself @iamcardib and me Midnight Tonight EST #Finesse,” Mars wrote. Cardi echoed the news by sharing the same image and writing: "Oh Hey @brunomars!!!! Finesse!! Drops tonight, midnight!! ITS AMAZZZZIIIINGGG.”

In September 2017, Cardi B made history with "Bodak Yellow" as the first female rapper to top the Hot 100 Billboard music chart in 19 years. Born Belcalis Almanzar to a Dominican father and Trinidadian mother, grew up in the South Bronx. She is only the fifth female rapper to top the Hot 100 after Lil' Kim who was featured on "Lady Marmalade," Shawnna who collaborated with Ludacris on "Stand Up," Iggy Azalea who led with "Fancy" along with Charli XCX. According to Billboard, Cardi B is also the first female solo artist to lead the Hot 100 list with no featured artist since Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass."

There are rumors that Cardi B and Jennifer Lopez will be teaming up on a new track soon. "WHEN J LO PULLS UP TO WE THE BEST STUDIO! Icon moment alert! Icon announcement alert. Icon visual alert. Icon everything ALERT!!! @jlo got New music coming. Be Patient!!! Patience is a gift and a talent," wrote DJ Khaled teasing that he might be working on a track with JLo, and insinuating that the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker is part of that collab as well.
