CCTV Footage Shows Hopeful Thief Stealing Package That Turns Out To Be Full Of Worms pixabay

A family in Surrey are at their wits end after having been on the receiving end of numerous bottles filled with urine left at their gates over the past three months. Feeling uneasy about being a specific target of a malicious act, Belinda Payne-Tholet and her family decided to install CCTV surveillance cameras to catch the culprit. The family is lost for words after CCTV footage finally caught a stranger leaving bottles of urine outside their Fetcham family home on Tuesday.

Initially, Payne-Tholet put up signs asking the person to stop. But as the bottles kept coming, she was determined to reveal the face of the culprit. Although they may have some comfort in the fact they have caught the stranger in the act, identifying him could take much longer.

"Some weeks it was every day, then other days we wouldn't see it for a while. Then it started to become more and more frequent and didn't seem to be happening to anyone around us, only us. The bottles were lined up perfectly - it wasn't as if they had been thrown out of vehicles," Payne-Tholet said.

The footage captured a person walking purposefully to their gate while carrying a bottle in each hand then placing them on the ground. The person then continues walking along the common footpath. The family says they do not recognize the person on the surveillance footage, Surrey Live reported.

In total, the family said they have been the recipient of about 10 and 12 bottles of urine with one at least five litres in volume. "It is really strange and bizarre. We have no idea [why]. We don't have any direct neighbours, we're not noisy, and far as I can understand we haven't done anything to anybody that would upset them or would cause them to do this”, she said.

“We are really puzzled and are getting tired of picking up these horrible bottles and having to dispose of them all the time”, Payne-Tholet added. She said she has been finding them on the way back from school runs in the morning or afternoon.

The incidents have now been reported to the police and the family plans on reporting them to the council as well. In addition to the footage, Payne-Tholet is intent on taking photos of the evidence going forward. "We are feeling a little uneasy because we are starting to think, is this a personal thing? We feel singled out and that is disconcerting," she said.
