For the second time, the Seattle Seahawks have decided to drop running back Christine Michael from their roster.

Michael is the leading rusher on the Seahawks with 469 yards, nearly 400 more than anyone else, but the fact of the matter is Thomas Rawls is coming back. With Rawls “expected” to play this upcoming week after suffering a hairline fracture, it spelled the end for Michael.

Well, at least with the Seahawks.

Michael can still help another team compete, and why not the 6-3 New York Giants?

The Giants may very well be 6-3, but their running game has been abysmal this season. The Giants rushing attack ranks a dreadful 31st in the NFL ahead of only the Minnesota Vikings. Only once in their last six games have the Giants eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark, and let’s also not forget that Shane Vereen is on Injured Reserve.

Rookie running back Paul Perkins has been getting an increased work load, but his season high is just 32 rushing yards this year. Of course the bigger issue with the Giants ground game lies within their offensive line, but Michael is more than used to playing behind a below average front five. Michael is averaging 4.0 yards per carry this season, which is very high for an NFL free agent.

The Giants are still looking up in the NFC East at the 8-1 Dallas Cowboys, who have the league’s best rushing attack. The Cowboys obviously have a much superior offensive line, but the Giants know that controlling the clock could been key to surpassing the Cowboys in the division.
