Manchester United's legendary forward Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly planning to find and transfer to another club this summer.
As the summer transfer window is just around the corner, a report from La Repubblica talked about the five-time Ballon d’Or winner not feeling like he is part of Erik ten Hag's plans in Man Utd moving forward.
The 37-year-old striker's agent, Jorge Mendes, is said to be searching for potential offers around Europe, with two clubs having deeply expressed interest in his services.
Roma are one of the clubs reported to have entertained talks for Ronaldo, with the Serie A side hopeful of using manager Jose Mourinho's influence to close the deal. Ronaldo’s agent Mendes is said to have a good relationship with AS Roma and if Ronaldo decides to transfer there, there is a possibility of a favorable tax arrangement. However, the defending UEFA Conference League champions will not be able to offer Champions League football.
Meanwhile, Sporting CP are also reportedly hopeful to sign up with Ronaldo to set up a reunion with the footballer, who came through the Portuguese side's youth system before leaving for United in 2003.
Ronaldo finished the 2021/22 campaign as the Red Devils' top scorer last season, with 24 goals in 37 appearances, with 18 goals coming in the Premier League. In the Premier League, United was placed 6th, the team reached the 4th and 3rd Round of the FA Cup and EFL Cup, respectively, and also got to the Round of 16 stage in the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag is said to have Frenkie de Jong at the top of his priority list when it comes to the transfer window despite Man Utd being connected with several players elsewhere. Also, Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, who will cost about £25 ($30) million, is on the list. However, it is claimed that Arsenal are in the front seat of getting his signature. Man Utd are also among the clubs linked to German defender David Raum. However, the Red Devils are just said to have made an inquiry rather than an initial bid, according to journalist Jonas Hen Shrag.
