Cristiano Ronaldo's sister Katia Aveiro liked an Instagram post that suggested her brother's exit from Manchester United this summer.

Speculations emerged that the Man Utd goalscorer could leave Old Trafford this summer following the club's failure to qualify for the Champions League. Aveiro's liking of a social media post that appeared to be calling Ronaldo out to abandon Man Utd added fuel to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's transfer rumors.

"It is very sad to see Cristiano Ronaldo in this situation with this Manchester United team. Now we are without a place in the Champions League," the post's caption reads, translated from Portuguese to English. "Cristiano does not have to stand [stay] as proof of love for the club, the greatest proof of that was he returned to Manchester United having also had a proposal from Manchester City with clearly a much superior squad, coach and by recent history."

"Cristiano has to think about Cristiano now. Manchester United will still last another thousand years. Cristiano, you have four more, five years of your career. Look for a better team now because you deserve it and because you still have a lot of football [trophies] to win."

Ronaldo could play in the Europa Conference League next season, with his Red Devils placing sixth in the Premier League table. The 37-year-old striker has undoubtedly performed excellently during the season, scoring 24 goals in 38 appearances. However, United still faced critical losses and weak performances. The team suffered a new defeat with a 4-0 against Brighton on Saturday.

The Portuguese international signed a £12.85 million two-year contract as he returned to Old Trafford from Juventus last summer. However, there have been rumors he could end his contract with the club before Erik ten Hag joins as the new manager.

Ten Hag will take over as United's manager this summer and reportedly will look to turn around the club's miserable defeats, but it is still uncertain whether Ronaldo is in his plans. Meanwhile, when asked about Ronaldo's future, interim boss Ralf Rangnick said, "This is a question you need to ask Erik ten Hag. He's showed that he can still be a vital part of this team, but it's obvious the team needs some more strikers."

Rangnick added, "There should be two or three new strikers next season, it's pretty obvious." Ronaldo still has another year to play on his current team, with the option to extend it further.
