Songwriter J. Wright, also known as Justin L. Wright is in hot water right now after being charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Wilanna Bibbs. He was arrested on Monday and is a suspect behind the death of the 20-year-old who he was allegedly dating.

Bibbs was found dead on Sunday after authorities responded to a call about a disturbance. When police arrived, they found the lifeless body of Bibbs who had reportedly been shot.

The 31-year-old songwriter, who worked with top artists like Timbaland, Rick Ross and DJ Khaled in the past, was arrested the following day. Per police reports, Wright and Bibb had a relationship although it was unclear for how long.

Wright is now facing first-degree murder charges and is being held on a $500,000 bail – an amount he is unable to settle. The songwriter requested for a court-appointed lawyer, claiming he was broke. He explained that all his belongings were stolen in November and that he has been living out of hotels.

"I'm not making anything right now," he said. "All my belongings were stolen in November."

The 31-year-old is best known for his Atlanta-based company called Camp Entertainment Worldwide which he established in 2011. Aside from working with top stars that include Timbaland, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Omarion, DJ Khaled and Bow Wow, he is also a multi-platinum songwriter.

“They were dating and Justin manipulated & controlled her, she was trying to leave,” a family member stated. In one social media post, she responded by saying: “You took her to Iowa and killed her on Mother’s Day, you threatened to kill my daughter also a few ago in ATL. You brainwashed & manipulated my cousin and tried to turn her against us. I hate she loved you, I hate she ever met you.”

If J.Wright is found guilty, he could end up serving life in prison. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the most dangerous time for the victim of an abusive relationship is when they are trying to leave their abuser.
