Barbara Streisand was rumored to have had an affair with Prince Charles shortly after he separated from Princess Diana. Years after they made headlines, Streisand commented on the speculations.

While at the British Summer Time Hyde Park show on Sunday, the 77-year-old singer shared with the audience a handful of photos of herself with the heir to the throne. In one of the snaps, Prince Charles is listening intently to what Streisand is saying.

Another photo shows the two chatting with each other. The snap was taken in 1974, when Prince Charles and Streisand were still very young. The singer even had long, straight hair at that time. “If I had played my cards right, I could have been the first Jewish princess,” the singer joked.

Streisand went on to show the audience old newspaper headlines that claimed that she charmed Prince Charles during their first meeting in 1974. Twenty years later, the two met again at the Prince’s Trust charity at London’s Wembley Stadium.

In 2006, it was also claimed that Prince Charles tried dating Streisand in 1994 following their second meeting. At that time, the Prince of Wales had already been separated from the Princess of Wales for two years. The rumor was even mentioned in the book “Game Of Crowns: Elizabeth, Camilla, Kate, And The Throne.”

However, this seems impossible because while Prince Charles was still married to Princess Diana, he was already having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. The future king’s relationship with Camilla continued after Prince Charles separated and then divorced Princess Diana.

In fact, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall stayed together even after Princess Diana died. In 2005, they tied the knot in a civil ceremony.

Throughout the years, Prince Charles has been linked to a slew of women. He was previously linked to Dale “Kanga” Tryon, the wife of his good friend, Lord Anthony Tryon. In 1979, rumors also swirled that he was having an affair with the wealthy heiress Sabrina Guinness.

Meanwhile, Streisand also referenced another member of the royal family during her recent outing. While singing her opening song, the singer name-dropped Meghan Markle.
