A staunch Trump loyalist, who allegedly wanted to “go to war” over the election, was recently arrested for possessing five pipe bombs that were reportedly unregistered destructive devices, as stated by law enforcement authorities on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

The U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California David Anderson maintained that the bombs found, were in addition to 49 firearms and more than 15,000 rounds of ammunition.

Ian Benjamin Rogers, 44, currently faces multiple charges of five counts of possessing a destructive device, five other counts of possessing a destructive device at a private habitation, and one count of possessing a destructive device with intent to injure, in addition to myriad other weapons charges.

“We allege that Ian Benjamin Rogers possessed homemade pipe bombs and the materials to make more,” said Anderson. “We draw a bright line between lawlessness and our constitutional freedoms. We will prosecute illegal weapons stockpiles regardless of the motivation of the offender,” he added. A joint investigation by The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Napa Special Investigations Bureau unraveled the crime.

The auto repair shop owner from Napa County, Calif, was apprehended on January 15. As per the criminal complaint, a bunch of firearms was seized from Rogers’ home and business that “were capable of fully automatic firing, including what appears to be a kit-built replica MG-42 belt-fed machine gun” which a firearms expert is currently examining.” -- as reported on MSN news.

FBI Special Agent Stephanie Minor stated in an affidavit supporting the criminal complaint that the MG-42 seized from the Trump extremist was produced in Germany during World War II for use by Nazi troops.

While Rogers took ownership of the pipe bombs and admitted to building them, he argued that they were built for entertainment purposes only. But the claims backed by text messages stand as a stark contrast to what it appears to be— Rogers may have been motivated by Trump’s dubious claims during the U.S. presidential elections, leading to its use for more lethal purposes.

“We can attack Twitter or the democrats you pick,” Rogers wrote in one text message, adding, “I think we can attack either easily.” The next day, he sent another message to the same person that read: “I want to blow up a democrat building bad”. He went on to say several times said he was preparing to “going to war” if Trump wasn’t voted into power.

Furthermore, officers maintained that his vehicle was emblazoned with a sticker for the “Three-Percenters,”— a group that links itself to extreme anti-government, pro-gun beliefs, and a “White Privilege Card” that referenced former President Donald Trump. The card, which designed like a credit card, read, “Trumps Everything” and repeated the numbers “0045” four times consecutively in a position and manner as would be in the case of an account number.

Rogers is currently held in government custody in lieu of a $5 million bail and awaits a preliminary hearing. As per the press release from the Department of Justice, "The charges contained in the criminal complaint are mere allegations. As in any criminal case, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law."
