A disgraced Disney channel actor who was busted trying to lure a 13-year-old minor boy into sex on the app Grindr has been slapped with two years in federal prison.

Stoney Westmoreland, who played the role of the grandfather on the Disney Channel sitcom “Andi Mack,” has been sentenced to 24 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release, rather than the 10 years in jail he initially faced, after he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor. Westmoreland was originally charged with enticement of a minor over the Internet, which carried a potential 10-year prison sentence, Daily News reported.

Westmoreland was charged four years ago in 2018 after he allegedly booked a car to meet with a 13-year-old minor boy for sex while he was filming in Salt Lake City. Westmoreland was reportedly communicating with the boy using Grindr, a gay dating app, and thought he was talking to a young underage boy with plans to bring him back to his hotel room. However, Westmoreland was actually communicating with an undercover police officer while the actor sent and asked for pornographic photos.

Westmoreland’s lawyer claimed that the suspect was aware the entire time that he was talking to an adult and thought they were "roleplaying."

As part of the plea deal, Westmoreland must cooperate with compulsory DNA collection guidelines and register as a sex offender. All of his computer devices will also be subject to random search and inspection. In addition to these, he has to report all of the accounts he uses for electronic communications and storage, including email and social media. He is also restricted from contact with individuals who are under 18 years of age without adult supervision, TMZ reported.

Following his arrest in 2018, Disney cut ties with Westmoreland.

“Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week,” the company said.

Westmoreland also appeared in shows like “S.W.A.T.,” “Better Call Saul,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Scandal” and “Gilmore Girls.”
