The life of Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel will hit the small screen with the new mini-series “Hasta que te conocí,” announced Disney Media Distribution Latin America in a press communicate this week.

The project, which consists of 13 episodes, will be based on original testimonies provided by Alberto Aguilera Valadez, better known as Juan Gabriel, and will narrate the singer’s pursuit of fame and success. “Hasta que te conocí” tells the story of how “El Divo de Juárez” became a Mexican icon by defying destiny, and struggling with poverty, treason, and prejudice.

“It has been an amazing project in which we are involved, and we trust it will have a huge fan base in México, Latinos in the U.S., Latin America, and Spain,” said Fernando Barbosa, Senior VP of Disney Media Distribution Latin America.

“Hasta que te conocí” which is a collaboration between Juan Gabriel, Disney, and Somos Productions, will be televised on TNT, Telemundo (U.S.), and TV Azteca (México).

“This TV show is about my life, and I’m making it with all my love, and affection, and to say thank you to every single person who has been in Juan Gabriel’s life. I want it to be a lovely memory, that is my wish,” stated “El Divo de Juárez” in a written message attached to the press communicate.

Juan Gabriel is currently traveling with his tour “Juntos” and he will be returning to “El Auditorio Nacional” in Mexico City, where he will grace the stage with 12 more performances due to public demand.
