John Barrowman is a changed man. And, a grateful one too. The “Doctor Who” actor who was embroiled in a rather embarrassing controversy pertaining to his behavior on the sets of shows like “Torchwood” and “Doctor Who” has made peace with his past, and implored apology from fans for his “tomfoolery”.

“Hi everybody, it’s John here and I just want to say thank you very much to all of my fan family and everybody who has reached out with the countless messages of support over the last few weeks,” said Barrowman in a new clip on social media, which appears to be taken from Palm Springs, California.

“It has meant such a great deal to me and has really touched me to know that people are supporting me and standing by me and sending their love and all of their appreciation and kind words,” he added.

Speculations ran amok soon after Barrowman confessed to flashing on the sets of the shows that made him the star today. The revelation came through after a 2015 clip resurfaced showing Noel Clarke—who currently faces misconduct claims— joking about Barrowman exposing his genitals “every five seconds” while “hitting it on everything,” as reported on ET Canada.

The controversy clearly wreaked havoc on Barrowman’s career, putting one of his future collaborations such as the UK show “Dancing On Ice” on hold. Despite wading through a rather trying phase, the actor believes he will come out of it unscathed by the allegations levied against him. “Hopefully we will all be back together sometime soon and I look forward to it. Much love and thank you.”

Barrowman’s new social media clip comes shortly after he expressed regret and apology over his actions. “With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologized for this previously. Since my apology in November 2008, my understanding and behaviour have also changed,” said the actor in an old interview.
