A Cincinnati man is facing an aggravated murder charge after allegedly killing a sheriff's deputy with his car after watching police bodycam footage of officers fatally shooting his 18-year-old son.

On Thursday morning, Cincinnati police shot and killed 18-year-old Ryan Hinton during an encounter involving a reportedly stolen vehicle, according to NBC News. Officers claimed Hinton was armed and fled the scene before allegedly pointing a gun at them, prompting one officer to shoot.

The shooting, which unfolded in six seconds, is now under investigation, though police have defended the officer's actions as a response to an immediate threat.

The day after the shooting, Ryan's father Rodney Hinton and family members viewed the body camera footage alongside attorneys and police officials. Following the emotionally charged meeting, Rodney allegedly struck and killed Deputy Larry Henderson with his vehicle while the deputy was directing traffic near the University of Cincinnati.

Henderson, a recently retired deputy working in a special capacity for graduation events, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Rodney Hinton has been charged with aggravated murder and is being held without bond at Clermont County Jail. Authorities are investigating whether the act was intentional, and prosecutors have vowed to pursue the case aggressively.
