Randalls Island
Randalls Island, the site of alleged misconduct by NYC Parks Department Officials, is home to a number of athletic fields as well as the Manhattan Psychiatric Center. It was conjoined with Wards Island many years ago and the two names are somewhat synonymous. Creative Commons

Female New York City Parks Department employees reportedly were asked to dance at secret parties so raunchy, they would make Stewie Griffin blush. Photographs and text messages regarding the parties in a basement room at a New York City Parks Department building on Randall's Island surfaced and some were published by the New York Daily News.

"If you want a job, get on the [stripper] pole," an unidentified man allegedly called to a female parks department employee at the facility on the island. The alleged events took place outside the busier parts of New York City, as Randall's Island is located in Hell Gate, which connects the East River, Spuyten Duyvil Creek and Long Island Sound that is considered part of the borough of Manhattan.

The alleged bawdy get-togethers occurred as early as 2009 at the annual Christmas and New Years parties held for Parks Department employees.

New York Magazine reported a complaint by a female underling that a higher ranking employee "lifted [her] shirt and ran his tongue across her stomach." The man then allegedly then turned his attention to the woman's crotch.

"It got really grabby" said one unidentified woman, "...men were slapping [expletive]s, it was out of control!" Another woman reportedly received profane text messages and would snap the straps on the woman's bra.

The New York City Department of Investigation later reportedly began looking into the complaints of alleged sexual misconduct at the private parties after being made aware by Parks officials. The Daily News reported a May 22, 2013 date for at least one of the initial complaints to the Parks Department itself.
