The Following
"The Following" is back for Season 2 and so is Ryan Hardy. And while fans may expect to catch back up with the drunk and brooding FBI agent, they are in for quite a shock, Hardy has cleaned up his act and life and is no longer obsessed with Joe Carroll, allegedly. Find out what to happened in "The Following" Season 2 episode 3 "Trust Me." FOX

“The Following” began this week with a scary nightmare dream showing Ryan and Joe on screen for the first time together since the Season 1 finale. Ryan was having an nightmare in which he attempted to kill Joe, after he quickly woke up to answer the door to a member of Joe’s cult in one of those terrifying realistic Joe mask, only to wake up again in FBI headquarters. After being reminded to steer clear of the investigation, the FBI start tracking Ryan’s movements and online activity. We quickly learn that Emma is way out of the Joe loop, and the new psychotic twins are clearly running the operations. Luke, Mark, the French girl and Carlos agree to met up with the newly pink-haired Emma who is shacking up with some other unknown followers in New Jersey.

After visiting his latest love interest, Lily, Ryan returns home to his new, very modern apartment only to discover his high-tech security system dismantled. Instead of one of Joe Carroll’s scary followers, the intruder is none other than Mike, and he is not happy with Ryan’s scary room of horrors, which reveals his unrelenting Joe Carroll obsession. Mike and Ryan won’t come to agree that it is possible for Joe Carroll to still be alive; he leaves with Carlos’s bag after getting a call from Mendez regarding Emma Hill. Joe decides that he is leaving the swamp but not before attempting to kill Judy, despite his obvious paternal feelings for her daughter Mandy. Judy tried to shot Joe in the back after he revealed that he was leaving because his desire to kill people was an addiction, the same as alcoholism.

The FBI catch Emma’s trail when she was leaving Carlos’s apartment, then the lost follower enjoyed an odd interaction with Mark who convinced her to meet the rest of his group. While she was away, the FBI descended on her apartment and they rounded up her roommates, who are also Joe Carroll devotees. Once with the group, Emma and what’s left of Joe’s terrifying followers learn of the safe houses demise. Luke tells Emma that her day with his brother saved her life. Quickly we switch back over to Joe, and his newly minted killer Many, who in an insane plot twist was the one to actually kill her mother Judy, she admitted to her mother that she can’t choose her over Joe. Looks like we’ve got a new follower. Almost instantly after the death of Judy, comes the death of Carlos at the hands of Luke, but that was really only a matter of time.

Episode 3 was really full of surprises, after re-watching the footage of the Subway attacks, Ryan figures out that Lily Grey is actually on of Joe’s followers, not a victim. Hen she seamlessly escapes from her arty gallery by wearing a wig, and obviously Ryan is the only one to see her and he decides not to tell anyone but just run after her. We all know how these normally end, but Lily calls him on his cell and patronizes him about Claire and shockingly she loses him. Luke, who calls her mother, picks up Lily. Let’s hope this isn’t actually a blood relation but just a pet name. Back with Joe Carroll, after a quick prayer for Judy and the slain priest, Mandy and Joe burn their former home to the ground. Ryan looks at a picture of Claire for a long time, after destroying his secret room, oh “The Following” how you never cease to surprise me!
