Microsoft has announced that "Gears of War 4" will launch globally on Oct. 11 for the Xbox One.

A multiplayer beta for the game will kick off later this month on April 18 and run until April 24 and gamers that played "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" on Xbox One or Windows 10 will be able to join the beta on Xbox One.

Furthermore, The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson confirmed that "Gears of War 4" will support split-screen in all modes. Fergusson said during a Game Informer show, that the studio "can never get rid of split-screen."

"Any way you can play Gears of War you can play split-screen," said Fergusson. In multiplayer, this means frame-rate will drop down to 30fps, instead of 60fps for the full-screen experience, reports VG24/7.

Fergusson also discusses how the development team goes about censoring its own content.

"Gore is important for obvious reasons, and swearing is too," said Fergusson. "...generally what we tend to do is take the hardest of the hard off because we didn't want to 'over-bleepify' our game... We tend to look at what's on radio and we tend to go a bit further than that."
