75': A good shot by Nani forces Neuer to make a save, and Eder latches on to the rebound and goes down in the box, but his penalty appeals are waved off. On second look, it should have been a spot kick.

73': Mats Hummels goes up for a header and lands awkwardly. Shkodran Mustafi will replace the center back.

69': Germany should have had another! Schurlle picks out Goetze in open space but Raul Meireles hustles back and blocks the shot for a corner.

65': Fabio Coentrao is stretchered off and replaced by Andre Almeida. He also looks to be in some pain and Portugal's grim day gets even darker.

62': First substitution for Germany - Andre Schurlle comes on for Mesut Ozil, who's had a fantastic match.

60': A great chance for Ronaldo from a free kick but the Real Madrid man hits the wall. Nothing going Portugal's way today.

51': A great through ball to Mesut Ozil who is free on goal but hits it right at the keeper. Should be Germany 4-0, but for now it is still just 3-0.

45 +1': GOOOOOOOOOLLLL!!!!! Portugal are defeated. Ball isn't cleared by Bruno Aleves and falls kindly for Muller who hits it right at keeper Patricio who is well out of confidence and deflects the ball into his own net. Germany 3-0 and Portugal down and out.

Germany's second goal:

37': Pepe sees red!!! What drama here! The Real Madrid center back head butts Thomas Muller while he was on the ground and a straight red is shown. That means he'll miss the US match.

35': Fabio Coentrao should have made it 2-1 but it looks like even he thought he was offside! He plays the ball across the face instead of just hitting it home. It is cleared for a corner, which finds Eder free in the box, but his header is just high.

32': GOOOOOLLLL!!! Germany 2-0! Mats Hummels heads in the corner with ferocity! Angela Merkel claps in the stands and he Germans are in total control.

31': Brilliant play from the Germans. Ozil finds space behind the defense and lays it off wonderfully for Goetze who's shot is deflected out for a corner.

28': First substitution for Portugal and it's a forced one. Eder comes on for Hugo Almeida who looks to be in quite some pain.

25': Nani has a hit from distance and it's close! Loew will be disappointed with how much space he was afforded, although Neuer looked to have it covered.

20': Game in a bit of a lull, Germany looking dangerous going forward and organized in defense. Portugal struggling to hold on to the ball.

12': GOOOOOOOOLLLL!!!! Muller doesn't hesitate and sends the ball into the back of the net. Germany 1-0 and in control.

11': Penalty Germany! Pereira pulls down Goetze in the box and the referee doesn't hesitate. Muller to take.

8': What a glorious chance for Khedira! Rui Patricio hits a horrible clearance and Khedira hits the ball one time to try to catch the keeper out but his shot inches just wide. Good opportunities for both sides early on.

8': First mistake by Lahm who loses control in his defensive third but Cristiano's shot is blocked.

5': Ronaldo makes a good run and plays in Almeida but the shot just doesn't have enough on it to test Neuer. And that's where Portugal is going to be dangerous -- on the break.

2': First good interplay by the Germans down the right hand side and a good cross is delivered by Jerome Boateng but it is cleared away.
