It's that time of the year! The awards season begins this Sunday, January 12th, with the 71st Golden Globes ceremony. Always funnier, quicker and sometimes more fair than the Oscars, the recognitions by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association have become the ultimate movie party in the Mecca Of Cinema. No longer an indicator of the recipients of the following Academy Awards, the Golden Globes is certainly an event of its own.

For the 2014 Golden Globes edition, two Latin Times movie aficionados, Ernesto Sánchez (Editor-In-Chief) and Anthony Smith (Social Media Manager) --or Sánchez & Smith as we dream to be known one day-- decided to take our movie discussions at work and turn them into something more productive! So here we are, choosing our picks for movies and TV categories, thinking not who deserves them -that's another story, but rather who we think will take the awards home.

This year there were some clear omissions. Sadly, Jake Gyllenhaal gave the performance of his life in "Prisoners," and the film itself we think it's one of the finest of the year. There is also Mexico's extraordinary "Heli" missing from the Best Foreign Language category, and what happened to Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin in "Homeland"? Did they just omitted them because of how awful the third season was?

With "12 Years A Slave" and "American Hustle" leading the race in movies with seven nods each, and "House Of Cards" and "Behind The Candelabra" leading on TV with four nods each, logic would say these are the movies and TV shows and TV movies that will take all the awards home, but no, that's why we have included "dark horses," the big surprises of the year. Are we correct with our predictions? Without further ado, read below...
