Gwen Stefani Says Blake Is a Sparkly, Happy, Amazing Person The Voice/Facebook

Gwen Stefani had no idea that Blake Shelton even existed before she joined “The Voice.” In a recent interview, the female singer admitted that Shelton was a total stranger to her when she signed up for the show.

Shelton and Stefani make up one of the most followed couples in the music industry today. However, their romance would not have blossomed if not for “The Voice,” where they met each other for the first time. And as for Stefani, it was where she ever heard the name “Blake Shelton.”

In an interview, Stefani admitted that before joining “The Voice” in 2014, she had no idea who Shelton was. When she guested on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show “Radio Andy,” Stefani revealed that despite being a singer for a long time, she knew very little about country music before joining “The Voice.”

She was actually surprised to know that there’s a singer named “Blake Shelton.” The singer even jokingly said she was shocked that he was even “a human being on this planet.”

According to Stefani, it’s good that they’re coming from two different genres of music because Shelton has helped her appreciate country music like never before. “It’s crazy because now it’s normal and we’re together and I’ve learned about country and I’ve accepted he’s a true hillbilly and all those things,” she said. “I can’t, like, imagine like before, I didn’t know he existed, like before the show,” she added.

Stefani also shared that her parents were fans of bluegrass but not country music. She said that at an early age, she learned that bluegrass is different from country.

The singer also expressed how much she admires Shelton and how much she’s in awe by the fact that he seems to know every single song. “He knows every single song forever, he’s incredible like that,” she said. “I just love that we’re so from different genes,” she added.

Shelton and Stefani have been together for four years now, but they’re still on cloud nine. Their romance started a few months after Shelton’s split from ex Miranda Lambert and Stefani’s split from ex Gavin Rossdale in 2015.
