The relations between the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex remained tense ever since Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018 when the bride accused Kate of making her cry because she got upset over something, a royal expert has claimed.

Ingrid Seward said that Kate Middleton, 40, would not prolong her feud with Markle, 40, but will “not forget” about the former royal member’s ill-treatment of her, the Mirror reported. She added Middleton would be “cordial” with Meghan should she attend the Jubilee because she has faith they can still mend their relationship.

Ingrid added that if the women reunite sometime this year, the Duchess of Cambridge will professionally put her feelings aside because part of her job as a royal is to keep things private.

Last year, during the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, the Duchess of Sussex claimed that Kate made her cry over a row on bridesmaids' dresses. In that guesting, Meghan told Oprah that Kate owned her mistake and offered her an olive branch by sending her flowers, the Daily Mail noted.

The same year, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl explained, “Kate has never wanted any suggestion of a rift with Meghan to come out in the press, so for this story to be circulating is very hard.”

“From what I hear, there are different versions of the bridesmaid story, not just the one Meghan discussed," the royal expert added. “Kate felt it was all sorted, so to have it brought up again was mortifying. Kate is not in a position to respond and Meghan and Harry know that.”

The appearance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Queen's jubilee remains in limbo amid Prince Harry’s issues with security and pleas for the Home Office to come to their aid and offer paid police protection.

Last month, royal biographer Tom Bower claimed Meghan may never return to the U.K. because she “simply doesn't care” what the British public think, noting the Duchess views Britain as a “lost cause.”

Meanwhile, as the Duchess of Cornwall hosted an International Women's Day reception at Clarence House, eagle-eyed royal fans were quick to notice the couple's adorable tribute to Meghan Markle in the form of a sweet photo of Charles with Meghan on her wedding day, according to OK!
