The winners of some of the year's finest movies will be announced during the Academy Awards broadcast on Mar. 12.

Although there is still a long way to go in terms of representation and recognition, it is important to recognize and celebrate the fact that a small number of Latinos received nominations in notable categories.

The following are some of the Latinos that earned recognition from the Academy Awards this year, and where you can watch their films.

Ana de Armas

This year's most notable Latina nominee is Ana de Armas. The casting of the Cuban actress as Marilyn Monroe in the movie "Blonde," for which she received a nomination for best actress in a leading role, is nothing short of inspirational. It is de Armas' first nomination for an Academy Award. Although the movie may be challenging and uneven to watch, she gives a brave performance that makes it all possible, Hola reported.

Netflix is now streaming "Blonde."

Alfonso Cuarón

One of the most renowned directors of modern cinema, Alfonso Cuarón, is nominated for the short film "Le Pupille," which he produced. Over his career, Cuarón has received seven Academy Award nominations. He has received four awards, including best director for "Roma."

"Le Pupille" is streaming on Disney+.

Argentina, 1985

Best international film nominees included "Argentina, 1985." It is based on the true story of the Trial of the Juntas, in which the dictators of Argentina were tried for the crimes they had committed against the nation after abusing their positions of power for decades and getting away with it. Santiago Mitre directed it starring Argentina's leading star, Ricardo Darín.

"Argentina, 1985" is streaming on Prime Video.

Guillermo del Toro

Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro received a nomination for the best-animated film. The movie is an adaptation of the Disney classic with a focus on fascism and a love for beasts and monsters, which provides del Toro with the perfect opportunity to display some of his biggest talents.

Del Toro has had five Academy Award nominations and three victories, including best directing for "The Shape of Water."

"Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio" is streaming on Netflix.
