Prince Harry has reportedly crossed a narrow line that he swore he would never cross. The observation came one year after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Prior to their wedding, Meghan was praised for her positive influence on the Duke of Sussex. However, she also had her husband compromise a line he pledged to never ever cross.

While speaking with Yahoo’s “The Royal Box,” royal expert Angela Levin detailed a conversation she had with Prince Harry. Before he got engaged to the “Suits” alum, Prince Harry told Levin that there is a big difference between being a show business celebrity and being a royal.

“A show business celebrity is someone who is acknowledged for something they’ve done, a talent they’ve had,” Levin shared. “A royal has to be steeped in duty and looking to look after things for the Queen. And he said, ‘I will never, ever become a celebrity. There’s a narrow line, but I never want to cross it.’ I think he has,” she added.

The royal expert said that Prince Harry crossed the line after he asked Meghan to marry him two years ago. “I think we can all say certain things, and then you marry somebody, you fall in love with them and you compromise. What will be interesting is how it goes forward, whether they do become a world-celebrity couple doing humanitarian work or whether there is more closeness to the Royal Family,” Levin said.

Prince Harry and Meghan are avid supporters of certain charities, and they are looking into expanding their activities following their split from Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer be a part of the Royal Foundation.

Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers said that the decision to split from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has something to do with Prince William’s preparations for his future role as king. “I can confirm that the Royal Foundation is splitting — this is the foundation that was set up in 2009,” Myers said.
