Princess Beatrice is rumored to have already gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. But until today, no announcement has been made by the York household.

Sources claimed that the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson may have been delaying her engagement announcement because of her younger sister, Princess Eugenie. The latter tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank on Oct. 12, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Princess Eugenie is also rumored to be pregnant. However, she and her husband haven’t also made any announcements. But if it so happens that both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are experiencing two major milestones in their lives at the same time, Princess Eugenie’s pregnancy will precede Princess Beatrice’s engagement.

Several years ago, the same thing happened with Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret. In 1960, Princess Margaret told her older sister that she and Antony Armstrong-Jones are already engaged. Her Majesty gave the late royal her blessing.

However, the monarch also asked Princess Margaret for a huge favor. Her Majesty asked her sister if she could postpone her engagement announcement since the Queen was scheduled to give birth to Prince Andrew.

Since the Queen is the head of the monarchy, her pregnancy is also regarded with more importance than Princess Margaret and Armstrong-Jones’ plan to tie the knot. A royal expert said that one week after the Queen gave birth, Princess Margaret released a statement regarding her engagement.

Princess Margaret was forced to give way to Her Majesty because royal courtiers didn’t want her engagement to trump the arrival of Prince Andrew. After all, the Queen and Prince Philip had their child 10 years after Princess Anne came into the world.

Meanwhile, betting company Ladbrokes is positive that Princess Beatrice will make an engagement announcement this year. If this will be the case, Princess Eugenie is also expected to announce her first pregnancy this year.

“The odds of Eugenie and Jack sharing some good news soon have taken another plunge with the latest betting definitely suggesting there could be an announcement around the corner,” a spokesperson for Bookmakers TV told The Sun.
