Princess Diana never had the chance to meet Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Sussex’s family. But if she were still alive, she might have been fascinated with Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr.

While speaking with Daily Mail, royal expert Ingrid Seward said that Princess Diana would have also wanted to know all of the details of Meghan and Thomas’ relationship to understand where things went wrong. Meghan has not spoken to her dad in months.

Princess Diana could’ve also offered advice to Meghan and Thomas on how to fix their relationship because she also struggled with some of her relationships when she was still alive. The Princess of Wales was not particularly close to her mom, Frances Shand Kydd. In fact, she stopped talking to Kydd weeks before she died.

Seward also said that Princess Diana wouldn’t entirely approve of Meghan as a wife for Prince Harry because she was actually quite snobbish. And if the Princess of Wales were still alive, Prince Harry wouldn’t have married the Duchess of Sussex because his life would be much different.

“She was very proud of her Spencer heritage and although she was great with the ordinary man, she might not have wanted someone for her son who had been married before and was from such a different background,” Seward said. “Perhaps Harry wouldn’t have married Meghan if his mother has still been alive because his life would have been quite different,” she added.

Princess Diana didn’t also have the chance to meet Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton. Seward said that the mom of two would’ve recognized how good Kate is for the Duke of Cambridge.

“I think she would be very fond of Kate because Kate does everything right and looks gorgeous. And I think she would have recognized how good Kate is for William because William is emotional and difficult,” she said.

Princess Diana would’ve also been a wonderful grandmother to all of her grandchildren. She currently has four grandkids from Prince William and Prince Harry. Her youngest grandchild was born on May 6.
