Introducing iPhone 11 Pro — Apple Apple

It’s not only Apple fans that are excited about the iPhone 12 release next year. Apparently, even the company itself has huge expectations for its upcoming flagship as it predicts the new lineup to perform even better than its predecessor on the market.

Apple released its 2020 forecast for the iPhone 12 lineup, which revealed the company’s optimism for the new models. According to GSMArena, the Cupertino predicted that total shipments for the upcoming smartphone could reach around 100 million units next year.

The projection showed that Apple is convinced that the new model will outperform the projected 80 million sales this year for the current iPhone 11 line. The publication wrote that the iPhone 12 forecast appears to be a bit optimistic considering that there was a slowdown in the smartphone market last year.

However, Apple explained that consumers are likely to upgrade to the iPhone 12 due to its redesign and the introduction of new technologies into the handset. One of the high-tech features the upcoming smartphone is expected to have 5G capability.

Another thing that might also convince customers to upgrade to the 5G capable iPhone 12 is the expansion of 5G networks and infrastructure. In fact, there appears to be a consensus among smartphone manufacturers that the niche will likely expand in the near future as major brands such as Samsung, OnePlus, and Huawei, have already introduced their own 5G-capable smartphones way ahead of Apple’s iPhone 12.

Apple is rumored to introduce four phones next year. Aside from the regular iPhone 12, there will also be an iPhone 12 Pro and an iPhone 12 Pro Max as well as the SE 2. The Pro variants will have smaller notches and will feature 120Hz ProMotion OLED displays, A14 Bionic SoC, 6GB of RAM, mmWave G support and 3D ToF camera.

The cheaper vanilla iPhone 12 is rumored to feature 6GHz 5G support. It will have a smaller 4GB RAM but won’t have the ToF camera found in the more expensive models. Meanwhile, the SE 2 is expected to have the iPhone 8 casing but will come with 3GB of RAM and the faster A13 Bionic chipset.
