T-Mobile USA's President and CEO John Legere announced that the carrier will start offering Apple's iPhone.

T-Mobile USA will become the last of the four major carriers to sell the iPhone.

Legere said a certain number of customers wouldn't come to T-Mobile's stores because of the unavailability of the iPhone.

Legere said when the iPhone starts rolling out in 2013, T-Mobile will offer a "dramatically different experience."

"In the coming year, T-Mobile USA will continue to reinforce its market presence with additions to its rate plan and product portfolio, including Apple products," the company said in a release.

Legere said the agreement with Apple is not a volume commitment the size that Sprint agreed to or anything close to it.

Reportedly, last year, Sprint agreed to a four-year commitment to sell 25 million to 30 million iPhones.

According to Bloomberg Industries research, T-Mobile had 8.7 percent of U.S. contract customers at the end of 2011.

T-Mobile stores have offered NanoSIM cards used in conjunction with the iPhone 5.T-Mobile said customers who bring an unlocked iPhone to any of its stores will get an unlimited data package and can save up to $50 per month compared to AT&T. The savings are based on comparison of T-Mobile $69.99/mo Unlimited Talk, Text and Data plan against AT&T Unlimited Talk, Text, and 5GB Smartphone Data plan.
