Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner bought a $30-million piece of land on a high-security location on Miami Island. The purchase came ahead of Donald Trump’s exit from the White House in January.

According to reports, Ivanka and Kushner’s new property sits on Miami’s Indian Creek Island, which is known as the “Billionaire’s Bunker” because of its high-profile residents. Indian Creek Island is a private and high-security location in Florida, boasting of its 13-man police force for only 29 residences.

Ivanka and Kushner’s new 1.84-acre lot was previously owned by Julio Iglesias and comes with taxes worth $472,764 a year. They bought it for $31.8 million, reportedly to build a bayfront estate. The couple reportedly bought the property after viewing several properties and lots in the Miami and Palm Beach areas as they made plans for life after D.C.

The high-profile couple reportedly chose a property on the Indian Creek Island because it’s just an hour drive from the Trump family’s Mar-a-Lago Club. Jared Kushner’s younger brother Joshua also owns a $22-million home in Miami, which he bought with his wife this year in preparation for the birth of their first child.

Sources also revealed that Ivanka and Kushner had been on the hunt for properties in Florida since most of their friends had moved out of NYC to transfer to Florida and the Hamptons. “The Kushners have been looking to purchase property in Florida for quite some time, and will also maintain their home in New York,” said a source.

The source said the couple will continue to own their apartment in NYC on Park Avenue despite their new purchase. They also have plans to expand their cottage by the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ.

For the past four years, Ivanka and Jared have been residing with their three kids in the Kalorama neighborhood of DC. The couple has been renting a property in the area for $15,000 a month. The home is reportedly owned by a subsidiary of the family of Chilean billionaire Andronico Luksic.
