YouTuber Jake Paul has finally found an opponent and it will be another mixed martial artist. However, the 25-year-old may be in for some tough competition when he faces Anderson “The Spider” Silva.

Silva becomes another former MMA champion that he will face in the boxing ring with the date reportedly set for Oct. 29, NoSmokeBoxing suggested on Monday, Aug. 29.

This was also confirmed by TMZ on Tuesday, Aug. 30, citing sources. However, unlike the report of NoSmokeBoxing, the outlet did not give a date or a venue on where the fight would take place.

Over the weekend, Paul teased on Twitter that he would be fighting again although he would be “almost certainly the underdog.” Silva, who has shown he can box as well, certainly fits in perfectly with that tweet.

So far, Paul has yet to taste defeat since taking up professional boxing. He has faced former MMA fighters such as Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley (twice).

Paul’s last fight was in December 2021, a rematch with Woodley. A clash with Hasim Rahman Jr. was previously in the works but things soured when the fight was canceled after both camps were unable to agree on the proper weight class for the boxing setto.

As for Silva, “The Spider” has won two boxing matches in 2021. He won via split decision over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 19. Despite Chavez being the seasoned boxer, Silva made a good account of himself, throwing 392 punches compared to Chavez’s 153.

Silva would return to the ring on Sept. 11 of the same year, this time facing former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. The 47-year-old won via knockout in the first round.

Last May, Silva faces Bruno Machado in an exhibition boxing match. Although no winner was declared, a highlight of that clash was when the Brazilian knocked down Machado in the fifth round.

Ironically, Paul also reacted to that performance of Silva.
