Jaime Camil and the rest of the gang returns in "Jane the Virgin" season 3. Here's one of the things to expect in show! CW / Jane the Virgin

Gina Rodriguez and the rest of the crew will soon return to the small screen in "Jane The Virgin" season three. But first, here is a major spoiler for fans!

Following the season two finale in May, where Bruno Mars made a slight comeback singing his new song "Rest of my Life" in Jane's wedding, series creator and show runner Jennie Synder Urman revealed a spoiler she is very excited to work on in the third season of the show.

“One thing I’m excited to do this year is that at a certain point Rogelio’s telenovela will end and they will be trying to adapt 'The Passions Of Santos' into an American show called 'The Passions Of Steve' and Rogelio is going to be fighting for his part in it,” Snyder Urman exclusively told Deadline. “That’s a storyline I’m really excited to get into, talk about the crossover and what does that mean.”

"The Passions of Santos" is a telenovela that Xiomara, Alba and Jane watch. Its main character, President Santos is portrayed by Jaime Camil's character, Rogelio De La Vega. According to Synder Urman, the mini-telenovela within the show uses escapism to convey serious matters.

“When you have a character like Rogelio, a lot of his journey is about escapism,” she said. “If I want to make any statement I can put it into his time-travel telenovela where he’s inspiring the women’s suffrage in a sexy way and I can give a little bit of ‘this silly right’… it’s that combination of where nobody will want to hear me sitting an talking about what progress we still need in the women’s movement but I can do it through Rogelio and you guys can laugh.”

In March, the CW announced that it was renewing the dramedy series "Jane the Virgin" for a third season for the 2016-17 season. Following the great news, the Puerto Rican actress and Mexican actor Camil shared a nine-second dubmash with their followers on Twitter, which shows the two jamming out to Pharrell's contagious song, "Happy".
