The stars of “The Riveras,” Chiquis Rivera, Jacqui Campos, Mikey Marin, Jenicka López and Johnny López visited the TV show "The Real" to talk about their reality show on Universo. During the interview that aired on April 20, the co-host Adrienne Bailon, remind Chiquis of a statement in which she had emphasized the fact that at the time of Jenni Rivera's death, both were far apart and were not communicating.

After Bailon's words, the 31-year-old singer sighed deeply and deepened on the subject. "I always say I lost my mom twice," Chiquis said. "I lost her October 2, 2012, and then when she left all of us December 9. I think more than anything now, I understand it, when things happen for a reason, and it was meant to happen that way, just because I Was a couple of steps ahead in the healing process. But it was horrible because it was a huge misunderstanding, it was a huge lie."

Mother and daughter were not talking due to a rumor that claims Chiquis was allegedly having an affair with Jenni's husband at the time, Esteban Loaiza. The eldest daughter of "La Diva de la Banda" always denied the rumors, but even so they provoked the divorce between Rivera and Loaiza.

"There were a lot of toxic voices around, and I think when you're stardom, you're in that place, there are people who want to come near you, and they want to be next to you, and they'll Do anything and say anything, "she explained.

Likewise, Chiquis assures that he is an optimistic person and sees everything as a test of strength. "It was really bad times, but again, I'm trying to see everything. I'm an optimistic person, so I'm like, well maybe it was because I had to be strong for my siblings, because we were so close," she finished.
