J.J. Abrams, the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director, revealed in "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," that he has collaborated with Lin-Manuel Miranda — the creator of hit musical Hamilton — to produce the new cantina music for the movie. Abrams told Fallon, the director and Miranda had a chance meeting at a intermission for Hamilton, where Lin jokingly offered his music services on the cantina scene for the new film

"I end up emailing Lin Miranda and I say 'I know you were kidding but if you actually want to write this music, I'm actually working on something,' he's like, 'I'll drop everything.' By the way, I saw him on your show, and it was maybe the best television I've seen in 10 years," Abrams said to the host."Anyway, he and I were sending back and forth music files, he's singing and playing instruments, and now in the movie, in this one sequence, is music that Lin-Manuel Miranda and I wrote."

Miranda also confirmed the collaboration saying that he worked on the project during his break on two-show days. “J.J. is the best. Can’t wait to see,” he tweeted.
