Kate Middleton And Prince William REPLACE Prince Harry And Meghan Markle With This Royal Couple

Just days after Prince Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step down from their royal roles, the Cambridges’ have already found a replacement of sorts. Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex to be by their side at an upcoming engagement—Buckingham Palace reception to mark the UK-Africa Investment Summit on January 20. The occasion marks William and Kate’s second engagement in the New Year.

William and Kate have been entrusted with the responsibility of receiving the heads of state and government at the reception. While the update comes soon after the bombshell news of the Sussexes stepping down from their positions, it is believed that Kate and the Countess share a special rapport—the latter is hailed Kate’s “secret shopper”. While this could just be a one-off instance, insiders speculate that Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex could be the replacements to Harry and Meghan.

On Monday, a private meeting was scheduled between the Queen and Prince Charles, William and Harry to discuss the Sussexes future and their immediate plan of action. As per the statement released, the Queen stated: “My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”

“Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives. It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK,” the Queen continued. “These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.”

While Meghan is currently in Canada, Harry has some important commitments to tend to, owing to which he’s shuttling between the UK all through this week and the next. It has been learned that the Sussexes’ were keen on becoming financially independent as they stepped down, and will be spending time between the UK and North America.
